The liver is one of the largest organs in the body and plays a major role in maintaining overall health. Its major functions vary from excretion, metabolism, synthesis of proteins e.g plasma proteins and immune factors; storage of vitamins and glycogen, etc. Because the liver is where various drugs and toxins are metabolised and excreted, it becomes susceptible to toxicity, generally due to the build-up of substances. This website has been created to explore a few of the substances that induce hepatotoxicity.[1]
